Kindle 3g free 3g WiFi – Welcome to the World of Kindle
It can be a little confusing trying to keep up with all of this technology. Names like Kindle 3G, free 3G WiFi can leave you lost. All you wanted was to find out more information on a Kindle and now you are faced with learning additional items. Not to worry, we will explain this to you below.
First off a Kindle is simply an electronic way to read a book, magazine, newspaper and to listen to audio files in a MP3 format. These books are known as e-books and have to be uploaded onto your Kindle.
To do this uploading process you need to be connected to the internet. This is how you will receive the file. This is where the Kindle 3G, free 3G WiFi comes into play.
WiFi is an internet connection that is done thorough your router. You probably have one of these at home, especially if you have more than one computer. This WiFi connection has to be paid for and you need a password to access it. Many fast food places, restaurants and public buildings will give you access for free.
If you can’t find access to the internet for free then you need to use a paid version. This is the 3G part. If you have a cell phone the 3G works in the same manner. The major difference is that you don’t have a monthly bill for your Kindle. Amazon actually takes care of the bill for everyone.
An advantage of the 3G on certain Kindle versions is that it allows you global coverage. Great if your travel plus you can currently get access to 100 countries.
This is why you will see it advertised as Kindle 3G Free and it also explains the pricing difference on certain Kindle models. The 9.7 inch Kindle DX is the largest Kindle and comes with free 3G and WiFi, but it is also priced higher.
One important thing to understand about a Kindle is that you only require the internet connection to download your e-books. Once they are on your Kindle you can read them at any time and any place.
If you know that you will only download books while at home then you can easily save money and choose the Kindle WiFi version. You may want to check out the additional cost of the 3G as it may only be $20 or $30 more. Again this depends on which Kindle you are looking at. For this amount you may wish to have both connection types to be safe.
